Hi

Here's a CNET review of the iPad 2.
It hits most, but not all, of the talking points.
Don't forget to hit "expand".

Here's a great ip for those of use who use iA Writer - or any other writing tool on the iPad that doesn't allow for a black background and white text.

"In your iPad Settings > General > Accessibility there is a cool option – Tap on Tripple-Click home, choose “Toggle White On Black” – Now the screen inverts its colors on tripple click the home button." - iA

Works great!

Here is a short movie I shot on the iPad2 - edited on the iPad2 (iMovie) - and uploaded to Vimeo on the iPad2.

Your movie ("XCode for the Mac unlocks Multi Touch Gestures") makes me wonder why Apple "locks" those gestures in the first place. They seem pretty natural.

Cause they're still in development I'd wager. But they do rock. Totally worth the $5.

Rumors are we'll hear about iOS 5 at the iPhone 5 launch, it'll be ready end of this year ... for an iPad3 refresh perhaps?

Perhaps. Apple & Friends do seem to be concentrating on the iPad.

The sound was choppy and the picture froze up a lot. Sorry.
Any suggestions on how to work around that?

Also, is Andy Hilton another of your pseudonyms? Who is Philip? Was that kite a stealth bomber replica? So many questions. So little time.

Really, I've had no problem on any machine watching that movie. Mac, PC, iPad. You have any other problems with Vimeo? It's HD as well.

Smooth as silk every time I've watched it. Yeah it was a stealth bomber kite from the Air and Space museum. That kid was my son, heh.

It was the first time I had ever visited Vimeo. I'll try again later to see if it's some sort of network difficulty. I get that sometimes with video.

Keep it in the family, I say. Beats paying union scale for kid actors.

Very nice! The video looked good on my Mac, editing was good, the audio sounded good. I'm assuming that is a built-in jingle that comes with iMovie? I read the comment that you and your son dubbed the audio—is that using the built-in iPad mic, or did you connect a mic via USB camera adapter? (sorry, I'm an audio guy, I like hearing about this stuff ;) )

BTW—GarageBand for iPad is another winner. And if you ever want to plug an instrument into an iPad, the Apogee Jam will be the ticket. It comes with both USB for Mac and 30-pin for iOS, and it does up to 24-bit/96k conversion (for a Mac). I believe that they should be in stores on April 1.

Hi TAS.

I switched from the Flash player to the HTML5 player and your iPad video/audio played fine.

GarageBand for iPad is great. $4.99, and your kid will love it (if you can tear yourself away long enough to give him a shot :)). The best part is that even if you don't really know what you're doing, you can't mess up. The Smart Instruments are preset with compatible chords, and the touch screen is a natural for music. The iPad even "reads" where your fingers are and how firmly you're pressing them and adjusts the sound accordingly.
Nice video.

Built in mic my friend. Came out pretty good.

Currently looking for a way to hook up my Blue Bluebird condenser mic with Phantom power.
