Ok, this is a little gruesome, but hey, I just spent the last two days saying "I love this!" and "This is so great!", so I figured maybe someone would find it useful.

EDIT: Oops, I just realized there's a small list of websites pinned up top there. It seemed to be all how to write type things though - maybe this is too specific? Lemme know, and I'll .. uh... ask Steve to delete it?

...After the brain is "fixed," it has the consistency and firmness of a ripe avocado.

Too grusome? Where else are you going to find stuff like this. A terrific resource.

Good work and thank you.

Callista - 32 posts. A lot.
Marguerite - 98 posts. Three times as much.
Thoth - 228 posts. Way more than necessary.

You fine ladies have nothing to worry about.
-Thoth.

BTW: Marguerite has a 100 post milestone coming up.

I don't want to be a blabber mouth, so I think I'll skip replying to this thread.

Too late, Mister 87 Posts. But if you keep posting to tell us you have nothing to say you'll break 100 in no time.

Not competitive over something this silly.

I had something to say, but my lawyer advised me not to comment.

But, see, you've all had seven months to accrue that number. I've done it in ... 10 days. Which means I really should shut up and dig back into my story. Like, now.

Glad you enjoyed the autopsy! I'll post some other gritty stuff when I come across it. Or organize my bookmarks, which is probably on my list of time-wasting-things-to-do list today.

SHE'S RIGHT. She's a super-poster! She's better than us all!

You could've come back with something like Oh, it's quality not quantity, or something like that.

But I'll take that.

SuperPoster!

EDIT: SuperPoster types too fast on this silly mac keyboard sometimes.

Could have but I used it elsewhere (more or less) already.

Yeah. What is it with these tiny, flat mac keyboards? Are they designed for attaché storage? Does apple have investments in CTS treatment clinics? Is it a secret kung-fu conspiracy to force us all to practice the mantis position? The mind boggles (and wanders).

Save us SuperPoster. Save us!

I never did get used to the mac mouse - I tossed it right away. I need a mouse with a right click. I'm waiting paitently until I have enough spare cash to get this. It's so comfy. I want it. I covet it.

Coveting,

Not to drag y'all away from the fascinatin' discussion of who has the most posts, :) but to get back to the original topic, Gentlemen's Blood turned out to be hugely entertaining. My personal favorites (to this point) include the man-dog duel, the duel between balloonists (one guy fired at his opponent, and the other at his opponent's balloon--guess who won?), and the escapades of La Maupin, who (depending on the source) either whipped a sword out from under her panniers and finished off three or more unwanted suitors in the middle of a formal ballroom or wore men's clothes to the party and then challenged the unwanted suitors, who may (or may not) have been making advances to a lady on whom La Maupin had her eye. Either way, she left the unlucky victims' honor in shreds: not only dead, but killed by a woman? :o How they must have writhed in their graves!

Why is this part of the original topic, you ask? Because of the undoubted gruesomeness of the descriptions, of course!

Despite reading history all my life, I'd actually never realized that so many duelists fully intended to kill, not merely maim, their opponents....

I use the pinned topic to collect and summarize. I think the actual discussion in useful too, and would like to leave it.

Another site that you might find useful is P.D. Lyle's The Writer's Medical and Forensics Lab. Lyle is a crime writer and an MD (and an engaging speaker).

How do you even play a good first person shooter on that keyboard? I'd get cleaned up in a deathmatch if I tried.

Give me non-ergonomic, please.

It is so...beautiful.

Too bad it's a Softie product. It'll probably break the first time you pound on it in frustration.

Weeping,
